The Maze Adventure playbook

Open Maze Adventure, check the instructions and begin a round. Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Look at what changes after your first action. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Practice with a purpose

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The challenge in front of you

Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Notice how the game responds to your input.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Start from the upper-left cell.
  2. Move through openings using arrow keys or direction buttons.
  3. You may also tap a neighbouring cell connected by an open passage.
  4. Reach the gold exit or generate a new maze.

Choosing and moving on screen

Arrow keys, on-screen direction buttons, or a click/tap on an adjacent reachable cell. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

See the idea in action

If a wall blocks the cell to your right, try another opening; the token cannot move through walls. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Look for the relevant detail.

Keep this in mind

Only immediately adjacent cells can be reached in one move. Check the rule before repeating the action. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
