Endless Runner: how a round works

Try Endless Runner at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Run as far as possible before a collision. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.

An endless distance challenge, no final win level.

Something to practise

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Notice the feedback after each input.

The purpose of your moves

Run as far as possible before a collision. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

The playing sequence

  1. Start auto-running.
  2. Jump approaching obstacles.
  3. Land in time for the next jump.
  4. Restart after a collision.

How your actions work

Jump button, game-area touch or keyboard jump. Start / pause and New round are available. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Look at the feedback after the action.

An example before you play

Jump slightly before reaching the obstacle. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Look for the relevant detail.

Notice this detail

Jumping without timing can land directly on the next obstacle. A different version of the game may use a different rule. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
