Your guide to Brick Breaker

Try Brick Breaker at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Single 45-brick layout, three balls.

Something to practise

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Clear all forty-five bricks before losing three balls. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Check the rules when you are unsure.

The steps to play

  1. Start the ball.
  2. Move the paddle to intercept it.
  3. Paddle contact changes the outgoing angle.
  4. Restart a remaining ball after a loss.

Choosing and moving on screen

Pointer, arrow keys or held Left/Right. Start / pause and New round are available. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

Put the rules into context

An edge hit sends the ball at a different angle. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.

A mistake to avoid

Track its landing point, not only its current x-coordinate. Check the rule before repeating the action. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
