Your guide to Russian Solitaire

Read the aim of Russian Solitaire, then make your first move. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Look at what changes after your first action. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Look at what changes after your first action.

Yukon-style deal, same-suit building, no stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Try a more deliberate round

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Use the example to check your reasoning.

Your objective

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

How to proceed

  1. Move any face-up card and its tail onto the next higher rank of the same suit. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

A useful example

A heart 6 fits a heart 7, not a spade 7. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Look for the relevant detail.

Check this before moving on

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
